Kipp Vision (02/05/2011)

Today we had a great visit at Kipp Vision Academy with the fifth graders. We began our activities by giving each student a Chip Ahoys chocolate chip cookie. We instructed them to use their toothpick and paper clip to remove the chocolate chips with out breaking the cookie. Then we further explain how that activity related to the jobs of the coal miners. Lastly, we played Are You Smarter Than a College Student. These fifth graders are brilliant and they are definitely as smart as the college student.

Kipp Vision Academy (Jan 21,2011)

Today the Environmental Task Force went to Kipp Vision Academy to teach the students there the importance of recycling. It was an amazing experience. We taught them what one could and could not recycle and how to compost materials. Also we had a recycling relay race that the children enjoyed. We intend to help the school become officially green and hold more activities there.
